Boys 15: Day 3 Recap

Dist. 2 (Gray) 8, District 16 (Gold) 4

Jordan Tacheny (Gentry Academy) scored twice and Matthew Whisler (Stillwater) had three assists to lead District 2 past District 16. Ben Dardis (Mahtomedi) stopped 11 of 12 shots for District 2. District 16's Teane Bunn (Roseau) scored twice.

Dist. 8 (Orange) 6, Dist. 15 (Maroon) 0

Luke McCarthy (St. Paul) scored twice and goaltenders Nick Erickson (Hill-Murray) and Dixon Ehlers (Red Wing) combined on the shutout as District 8 beat District 15. District 8's Owen Hendrikson (Rosemount) and Dylan Godbout (Hill-Murray) each had a goal and an assist.

Dist. 9 (Navy) 14, Dist. 12 (Royal Blue) 3

Maddox Fleming (Rochester Mayo) scored five goals for District 9 as it overpowered District 12. A freshman, Maddox scored once in the first half before erupting for four more in the second. Eli Miller (Northfield) added a goal and three assists.

Dist. 3 (White) 6, Dist. 5 (Purple) 2

Wyatt Carlson (Wayzata) scored twice and Liam Sebek (Edina) stopped all nine shots he faced to lead District 3 past District 5. Landon Gunderson (Osseo-Maple Grove) scored a goal and added two assists for District 3.

Dist. 6 (Red) 6, Dist. 10 (Green) 5

Jimmy Clark (Edina) scored two goals and added two assists, and his second goal proved to be the game winner as District 6 outlasted District. 10. Sam Rinzel and James Snuggerud (both from Chaska/Chanhassen) each added a goal and an assist for District 6. 

Dist. 11 (Light Blue) 5, Dist. 4 (Black) 3

Dayne Painovich (Cloquet/Esko/Carlton) scored twice and added an assist to lead District 11 past District 4. Four unanswered goals in the first period put District 4 comfortably ahead, but Benjamin Portner's (Lakeville South) two goals led the team's rally.
