Section 1A/AA - 5, Section 6A/AA - 4

Section 1 used a couple of quick response goals to help them keep Section 6 close in the first half and then capitalized on a strong second half for a 5-4 win. Section 6 came out strong in the first half, putting up 20 shots and earning leads of 1-0 and 3-1 on goals by Noah Griswold (Holy Angels), Nolan Widman (St. Cloud Cathedral) and Hayden Walters (Sartell). Luke Jech (Lakeville North) scored just five seconds after Griswold to tie it at 1-1, and then Jax Schauer (Hastings) scored 90 seconds after Walters' goal to keep Section 1 within one goal as they headed to the intermission. In the second half, Section 1 cranked it up doubling the number of shots they had in the first half and scoring twice in the first seven minutes to earn their first lead of the game. Nate Heithoff (Blake) proved Section 6 could respond as well, tying the game at 4-4 midway through the half, but Section 1 had the final say as Brody Lamb (Dodge County) buried the game winner and his second of the game with three minutes remaining.

Box Score

Section 7A/AA - 5, Section 3A/AA - 2

Section 7 and Section 3 followed the day's theme of quick starts as well, only this time both teams got in on the action. Garrett Schifsky tallied the game's first goal just 36 seconds in to put Section 7 up 1-0, but Section 3's Tanner Brouwer (St. Thomas Academy) evened the game at 1-1 just 39 seconds. After that, the teams settled in and Section 7 took over the game posting over 20 shots in both halves. Schifsky added his second of the game, and Aaron Pionk (Hermantown) made it 3-1 for Section 7 at the end of the first half. Easton Young (Grand Rapids) and Logan Gravink (Andover) expanded that lead to 5-1 and Section 7 went on to win 5-2.
