The OMGHA Junior Gold Crimson team was made up of players with various hockey backgrounds. Although many of the boys had not been on the same team recently, most of the team had played together at some point in their hockey careers, but several players had not played organized hockey for two or more years. The hockey experiences each player brought to the team had seen varying success, with only one team member ever having qualified for the State Tournament at any level.
As the season progressed, this team really came together. Highlights included a win over a Junior Gold A State Tournament qualifier, a second place finish in the Duluth tournament, and a championship in Shakopee. The boys concluded the season with a record of 34-2, and were looking forward to proving they were among the best teams in the State at the tournament.
