Centennial Jr. Gold B

Season Recap

The most memorable game of our season occurred in the round-robin portion of JGHSL Playdowns. After a disappointing loss in our first game, we needed to win our last 2 games in pool play to have a chance at advancing to state.  This task was made harder in the fact that our second game was against Lakeville, one of the top teams in the state that we had little success against in two previous games.  The team worked hard and played their best game of the year, bolstered by a stellar goaltending performance (and support from the Elk River team in the stands) to pull out an exciting 2-1 win.  This helped to secure the 3rd seed of 4 going into Sunday’s play-in games, when a victory over Woodbury punched our ticket to State.

The highlight of the year though would be our Senior Night.  Between our Junior Gold B and Junior Gold A teams this year, we had 28 seniors that were honored on our Senior Night on February 9th.  The event consisted of home games for all three of our junior gold teams.  It was a fun day honoring the 28 seniors and showcasing our junior gold program as a whole.
