Season Recap
OMGHA 12A Team,
Thank you for a season to remember. It is a season that many will remember for being cut short by a global pandemic, but to the coaches and families, it will be remembered for so much more. To us, it will be a season defined by overcoming adversity and resilience. We played 38 of our 45 games without our full roster. Girls were asked to play different positions, take on new roles, and play with new players. You never questioned or complained. You all stepped up and contributed. You grew in an environment that was never the same, and we could not be more proud of you.
The 2019-2020 season will be remembered as a season of achieving our goals. At the beginning of the season, we asked you about your goals and you said that you wanted to win the District 3 regular season, the District 3 tournament, win your Region and ultimately win a state title. By the end of the season, you had won the District 3 regular season, won the District 3 tournament, won a very difficult West Region and put yourselves in a position to potentially compete for a state title. You achieved these goals through hard work, dedication, mental toughness, and a belief in each other.
One highlight from the season we will never forget is the double overtime victory against Moorhead in the West Region Tournament. To be down by two goals going into the third and come back the way you did showed tremendous heart and character. Another highlight of the season that sticks with us is the shootout victory over Delano in the Cupid Classic in Bloomington. Throughout that weekend, we fought through illness and injury and every game it seemed someone new stepped up to help the team win.
As you girls read this and reflect on the season, we hope you know you each brought something special to the team, each one of you mattered, and we could not have had such a remarkable season without each and every one of you. Each one of you has made a lasting impression on us, and we will never forget the OMGHA 2019-2020 12U A season!
