Our team battled injury all season, which pushed us to be creative about how we approach the game, and forced us to support each other in different ways. We endured the sorrow of the sudden loss of a very dear hockey dad in our association just before Christmas, which made us all appreciate even more the importance of our hockey family. Beginning that day, the boys never missed a post-game prayer on the ice together, and often times, the opposing team joined in as well. We also had the opportunity to spend some time on the ice supporting Minnesota Wild Special Hockey, creating lifetime memories for all involved.
We took first place trophies in the Roseau Center Ice Club tournament, and the Edina Tradition Invitational Tournament. We wrapped up our season by winning the Bantam A West Region championship, punching our ticket for a return trip to the state tournament. The boys are best friends, and that relationship is reflected in the way they play and was undoubtedly a significant factor in their success this season.
