Minneapolis Peewee A

Season Recap

The season may have been cut one weekend short for the Minneapolis Peewee A team, but that won’t dim the memories and special moments the team created along the way.

There were certainly points during the season where we were tested as individuals, and as a team. We lost two tournament championship games. We tied 10 times during the season. We lost a game in District playoffs and faced down three straight elimination games. We lost the upper bracket championship game of Regions and had to come back to play the lower bracket championship game that same day.

But one of the reasons to remember your losses and setbacks is to measure your response. The response from this special group of kids was to come together. We resolved to practice harder, to have more fun, to get better, to get smarter, and be great teammates to each other after each setback. I believe we achieved all those things over the course of the season. And finally, after our two tournament losses, we broke through and won a tournament in mid-February. We won three straight elimination games in the District 3 Tournament, and we came back and won on Sunday night of Regions to punch our well-earned ticket to State!
