East Grand Forks Peewee A

Season Recap

In a showcase of some of the top Peewee A teams in Minnesota, the East Grand Forks Peewee A entered the Minnesota Hockey State Tournament with a record of 32-8-1. The team of six second-year players and eight first-year players has come together as a group and displayed a lot of talent throughout the year. The players prepared themselves all season and were playing their best hockey at the end of the year.

The season started with an eight-game win streak and a trip the cities facing some of the metro teams would eventually make it to State. It was clear from the start our team was highly offensive, but we learned over the year how playing good defense created a lot more opportunities for us. The team was a full of a lot of characters but unified as a team. We had size, speed, a lot skill and made ourselves better each day. It was the preparation in practice that truly made ourselves a solid team and pushed our skills to make the team a winner.

We played all types of teams throughout the season, but it was during the Roseau Tournament that we showcased our potential and played like a championship team. We did not lose to an A team all season. The compete level grew stronger and the unity pushed us onto more challenges.  We faced some adversity but maintained that strong team concept to push us through.

Congratulations goes out to the players and the parents of the EGF Peewee A team for a passionate and determined squad that put together a great season! It was so much fun to see this unquestionably talented group develop team camaraderie that fueled our success and made every day at the rink exciting to be a part of.
