Woodbury Peewee AA

Season Recap

It was a fun, unpredictable year for us.  We returned three players from the previous year’s solid team – Cullen Ingebritson, Dominic Kopp and Logan Hensler.  Unfortunately, Dom and Logan started the season with broken bones.  This turned out to be a blessing for the other defenseman, Mats Tarlton, Caden Schlattman, Blake Kohnen and Tommy Miller as they received a lot of extra time in the first few weeks of the season.  A strong set of forwards allowed us to be competitive in every game.  Second year forwards, Brock Alberts, Thomas Dittrich, Veszi Lippai, Aiden Grossklaus, Logan Montpetit, Bauer Houge, Cole Simmers along with Cullen all had big moments and strong seasons.  Brady Morrell was our lone first year forward and showed his high hockey IQ throughout the year by masterfully playing center and making big plays on both ends of the rink.  Jayce Rogina was our only rostered goalie and was outstanding all year – highlighted by being named all-tournament at the Founder’s Cup and leading us all the way to the State Tournament.  Riley Helmsberger stepped in and was an excellent backup at the Moose Goheen Tournament and in all of our playoff games.

We are appreciative of all the competition in District 8 and the teams from across the state that pushed us all season to keep improving.  While we would have loved to have played three more games, we are thankful for the chance to represent Woodbury at the Peewee AA level and have played together all year.
