Bemidji Peewee AA

Season Recap

The 2019-20 Bemidji Peewee AA team used stifling defense and outscored their opponents 241-125 on the season to lead them to a 34-14-1 record.  Keeping opponents to two goals or less was the key to success, as they did that in over half of their games this season, and when combined with scoring nearly 5 goals a game, that is a good recipe for success.

Season highlights include winning the Paul Bunyan International, placing second in the Grand Forks Tournament, and obviously, completing the trek through the consolation bracket in the North Region through some very difficult competition to reach the State Tournament.

The real key to the success of this team was a strong parent group.  They toted the kids around the state for nearly 4000 miles to play hockey this season.  That’s something that gets overlooked too many times is the distances our parents will go to watch their kids do the thing that they love most. A huge shout out to them for their effort and support!
