The Wayzata Bantam B1s had an amazing season with all the potential of a state champion team. With a mix of first- and second-year players, these boys were a joy to coach and grew tremendously as hockey players, as young men, and as a team. They bonded outside of hockey thanks to paintball and volunteer events and persevered through a number of injuries. This talented group spent the first half the season learning and playing every position, before settling into their preferred roles to head into the final tournaments. The team really came together after the holidays, winning the Moose Goheen tournament in White Bear Lake, and playing some of their best hockey against the strongest opponents. However, the highlight of the season was winning the Region Tournament championship and punching our ticket to the State Tournament!
We couldn’t have asked for a better team of young men, a more dedicated set of coaches, or a more positive group of parents, to spend this memorable 2019 / 2020 season with. THANK YOU WAYZATA B1!
