Maddie Rooney grew up in Andover, MN where she helped lead their girls high school team to its first state tournament appearance. Rooney played two years at University of Minnesota Duluth, earning Third Team All-WCHA honors in 2017 with a .942 save percentage and 1.65 goals against average in 37 games. At the 2018 Olympic Games, Rooney became the first female goaltender from Minnesota to play in the Olympics, and as the youngest player on the team, she led the team to a gold medal by playing in four games, including the gold-medal game shootout winner vs Canada. Rooney led all-tournament goaltenders with a 1.16 goals-against average and a .945 save percentage ranking second-best. 

Rooney will serve as a counselor at camp.
