The primary focus of this role is to create and execute the most the most effective blueprint for girls’ player development nationwide. This role will leverage USA Hockey resources (ADM, Coaching, and to a certain extent officiating, etc.) to create a synergized player development plan that starts at the affiliate and district levels and advances through the Under-‐18 National Team program. Additionally, this position will work in conjunction with our grassroots volunteers to help create the best curriculum and training plans for all ages of Under-‐18 development. This role will also be tasked with accumulating and sharing ‘best practices’ throughout USA Hockey’s twelve districts.
This role is designed to provide general administrative support for all Women’s Hockey Programs and Events within the Women’s Hockey Department. It is an entrylevel internship that will provide exposure and work experience in various areas of girls and women’s hockey at all levels (beginning with the girls player development program and progressing to U18 and Senior National Team programming, and National Team Alumni).
Additionally, this role will leverage the Women’s Hockey Department staff to support communication with USA Hockey’s Girls Women’s Section (gather questions, needs, input from the Girls’ /Women’s section and then work with the Women’s Department to help provide support as needed). This role will also attend recurring USAH meetings (Membership Development, Communications, Youth Hockey, etc.) to support integration of programming within our USA Hockey programs.
DinoMights is a youth development program featuring hockey, in South Minneapolis. The philosophy of DinoMights centers around maintaining relationships with youth from their elementary years through high school graduation, and providing them with the various kinds of support they need to become self-assured, competent adults. We are looking for more volunteer hockey coaches to help in our non-profit.
