The Minnesota Junior Hockey League, a USA Hockey-sanctioned league boasting 16 teams (Minnesota Division and Great Lakes Division) prides itself on the social maturity and skill development of student-athletes ages 16-20 with aspirations of advancing to the ACHA, Tier II Junior Hockey, NCAA D I and D III teams and Semi-Professional/ Professional teams.

Minnesota Junior Hockey League features 168 games per Division

With the season starting shortly, the Minnesota Junior Hockey League’s two Divisions, Minnesota and Great Lakes, are set to play 168 games a piece during the regular season. On September 7th, the Steele County Blades, in their début within the Minnesota Divison, will match up with the Dells Ducks at the Poppy Waterman Ice Arena in Lake Delton, Wisconsin. In their second season, the Maple Grove Energy will host the Edina Lakers at the Maple Grove Community Center in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

The most exciting development within the MnJHL is the addition of the Great Lakes Division. The first matchup on September 7th starts a weekend series with the Wisconsin Rampage against the Tri City Icehawks at the IcePlex in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.

Two inter-division showcases are scheduled: October 4-7 in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin and December 10-13 in Rochester, Minnesota. This allows all 16 teams to matchup against each other, creating what should be a dynamic competitive environment for the players, referees and coaching staff.
