G14: HIgh Level of Competitiveness Across the Board for Final Day of Festival

The early morning began with D15 and D16 facing off at 7:30am for the final day of the Spring Festival. The first half was controlled by D16 as they peppered D15’s goalie Taylor Kressin (30 saves) with 31 shots, yet only finding the back of the net once. D16 came out even more fiery in the second half pouring on 32 more shots on goal, tallying seven more goals for the 8-0 win over D15. Jordyn Werk (12 saves) and Haidyn Friborg (2 saves) split the shutout for D16. D16 went undefeated over the weekend. 

 

The second game of the final day was a back-and-forth game full of energy and quality chances between D3 and D6. Kelsey Olson notched both goals for D3, one in each half. D3 had the lead for the majority of the game until D6’s Kaylee Idrogo Lam tied it up with just 29 seconds remaining. D6 outshot D3 by a total of 39 to 13, but D3’s netminders were solid all game. Goaltender Allison Olson (D3) stopped 21 of the 23 shots, while Peyton Nelson (D3) stopped 16 out of 16 shots.

 

District 2 and District 10 had an even-matched game with plenty of chances for both teams. D10 pulled away with the 2-1 win as they put up a later, second half goal. Goaltender Addison Moudry kept D10 alive as she made 21 big shots in the second half. 

 

The final game of the festival between D8 and D11/12 was highly paced and full of energy. The back-and-forth scoring came down to the wire. D11/12  came out on top defeating D8 by a score of 3 to 2.
