Minnesota Hockey

The 2011 Minnesota Hockey Dave Peterson Reebok High Performance Goalie Camp was held July 28-31, at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine. More than four dozen goalies - boys and girls in grades 9 through 12 - participated in the camp.

GIRLS

This camp allows the top goalies in the state to compete against each other making them better than they were before they came.

The Minnesota Hockey Dave Peterson Goalie Camp is a great way for goalies for expand their overall knowledge on goaltending because goalies that attend this camp experience a wide range of coaching styles, drills, and situations. These experiences help them see their true style of goaltending, which is their own. Along with the athletic aspects of the camp, goaltenders meet other goaltenders from many different areas of Minnesota and get to know them, which is always fun :).

This camp definitely has helped me improve as a hockey player and goaltender. At this level, there aren't a whole lot of new techniques or saves to teach goalies, so this camp didn't try to do that. It more sharpened the skills I already had. And by putting me in an environment with some of the best coaches/shooters/goalies in the state I was pushed to the very edge of my competitive nature, which only helps me improve more.

I just want to say that it was the most enjoyable camp I've ever been too. I was fun to meet all the new people in the camp and go out and play soccer with everybody. All the coaches were amazing, they were all so helpful and I really liked the presentations that the camp put on - they really helped me and made me think of new ways to play the game!
