Orn Named District 10 Head Coach

The Minnesota District of USA Hockey announced today that Mike Orn has been named Associate Coach-in-Chief (CIC) for Minnesota Hockey District 10. Orn will lead the implementation of USA Hockey’s Coaching Education Program and provide development opportunities for youth hockey coaches in the District 10 area.

Orn joins the CIC staff with extensive playing and coaching experience. He played his youth and high school hockey in Stillwater where he is now a member of the Stillwater Athletic Hall of Fame. Orn went on to play four years for Miami (OH) University in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, was drafted by the Minnesota North Stars and played two years of professional hockey in Germany.

After retiring, Orn moved to the Ramsey area where he began coaching youth hockey. Orn has coached at numerous levels for the past 18 years, including five years as an assistant high school coach at Legacy Christian Academy, and has spent six years on the board of the Anoka Area Hockey Association as hockey director.

Orn and his wife Lori have lived in Ramsey, MN for 23 years and have four children: Adam, Alex, Casey and Rachel. Orn operates an independent insurance agency in Andover, MN.
