Minnesota Hockey, in partnership with Titans Athletic, is excited to announce the details of the Minnesota Hockey / Titans Athletic B & C Spotlight Classic (“Spotlight Classic”).  The event will provide players at the B and C classifications with an opportunity to celebrate their season at Andover Community Center on March 18-19.

Formerly known as the Titan Athletic All-Star Classic, the Spotlight Classic has been bringing players throughout the state together for an end of the season spotlight event for nine years. In 2016, over 745 players from 81 different associations participated.

The event is structured as an all-star type of format in which teams are created with players selected from different communities to play together against similarly built teams. Players at the following levels are eligible to participate: Squirt B, Squirt C, 10U B, Peewee B2, Peewee C, 12U B, Bantam B2, Bantam C and 15U B.

The format for selecting players will be at the discretion of the association or coaches, but Minnesota Hockey and Titans Athletic encourage consideration to be based on more than just skills.  Characteristics such hard work, dedication, sportsmanship and a pure love of the game also deserve to be rewarded and should be included in consideration.

“With this being the 10th year of the event, we are excited to work together  with Minnesota Hockey to expand the Spotlight Classic and ensure more of our Minnesota youth players at all levels have special events to recognize their dedication to hockey,” said Cam Stimmler, Spotlight Classic Director, Titan Athletics. “We would love to see representation from all of our Minnesota associations and really showcase the passion for hockey throughout this state.”

Participants in the Spotlight Classic will have the opportunity to participate in one practice and one scrimmage with their new teammates before playing in the highlight of the event, a Spotlight game. Players will also receive socks, a game jersey and a special locker room experience.

Minnesota Hockey will also provide all players with the option to participate in select on-ice clinics led by Minnesota Hockey’s experienced American Development Model instructors

There will be a limited number of games and player and coach spots.  Player selections will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
