Team Red 5, Team White 4

Moorhead’s Cole O’Connell forced a turnover in the offensive zone and then beat the goaltender to put Team White up 1-0. On a 2-on-1, Sam Walker rang the post with a wrist shot from the right circle. Isaac Johnson of Anoka then scored to make it 2-0 Team White at the end of the first period. Goaltender Gavin Enright of Farmington came up big for Team White throughout the frame. Team Red must have received a pep talk during intermission from coach Andy Lundbohm, as they exploded for four unanswered goals in the second period. Max Michaelis, Clayton Phillips, Ray Christy and Ben Copeland gave Red a 4-2 lead. But White would muster their own magic with two goals in the last 53 seconds of the game. Walker made it 4-3 and Johnson added his second tally with 15 ticks left to send the game into overtime. Jack Olsen of Lakeville South scored the OT game-winner with assists to Phillips and Jack Johnston.

Team Red 5, Team Blue 4

Eden Prairie’s Nolan Sullivan scored two goals in the first period for a 2-0 Red lead. Sullivan wheeled on the outside of the opposing defenseman, then powered to the front of the net and stuffed it home for the first goal. Jack Johnston of St. Paul Academy would continue Red’s momentum. Clayton Phillips ripped a hard shot on net from the point, and the ensuing rebound created chaos in front of the net, where Johnston’s grittiness eventually paid off as he jarred the puck in to make it 3-0. Hermantown’s Ryan Sandelin got Blue on the board late in the first. Edina’s Ben Copeland made it 4-1 with assists to Holy Family’s Matt Anderson and Sullivan. Blue mounted a comeback behind Connor Mayer and Carter Randklev goals. Red’s Brian Halonen extended the lead to 5-3. Dylan Samberg brought it back within one but Red held on for the victory. John Begley and Zack Stejskal made 20 saves for Blue. Michael Magnuson and Jared Moe stopped 24 for the win.

Team Blue 6, Team White 4

The scoring came in bunches for both teams in this contest. Hermantown’s Ryan Sandelin potted the first goal for Blue, with assists going to Luke Manning and Dylan Samberg. Brock Bremer of Hill-Murray made it 2-0, but less than 20 seconds later, Edina’s Sam Walker responded for Team White. Isaac Johnson and Thomas Sagissor assisted on the goal. Garret Worth tied the game and Burnsville’s Roman Ahcan gave them a 3-2 lead in the second period. Then Blue hit the gas pedal. Bremer scored his second goal of the game, then back-to-back goals by Luverne’s Nick Behrend made it 5-3. Ahcan and Cory Checco added goals for White and Blue, respectively, and the game ended with Blue winning 6-4. John Begley and Zack Stejskal stopped 27 shots for Blue. Gavin Enright and Matthew Fitzgerald saved 18.
