CCM HP Girls NIT: Day 2

Game #3:  Wisconsin: 5, North Dakota 1

The teams played scoreless for the opening 13 minutes until Wisconsin's Amber Heidenreich scored on a pass from Samantha Young.  A minute and a half later it was Katelyn Ramthun making it 2-0 Wisconsin scoring on a play assisted by the Bauer's, Elizabeth and Emily. Kaitlyn Page scored unassisted with 35 seconds left to cut Wisconsin's lead to 2-1 after the first period. It appeared the game would go into the third 2-1, but in the last four minutes of the second period Wisconsin opened the game up with two late goals by Jada Ward and Maddie Rowe. Late in the third, North Dakota pulled their goalie for the extra attacker, but Wisconsin got an empty net goal and the game ended 5-1. North Dakota goalie Quinn Kuntz made 41 saves on the night, while her opposition in net Lauren Tremblay for Wisconsin turned away 19 of 20 shots in a winning effort. 

Game #4: Minnesota Seniors 17, Michigan 0 

The Minnesota Seniors scored early and often Friday in their win against Michigan leading to a final score of 17-0.  Kaitlyn Radke scored 59 seconds in on an assist from Jordan Anderson and the rest of their teammates followed as 13 different skaters scored for the Minnesota Seniors.  Anderson (two goals, two assists) and Annelise Rice (one goal, three assists) led the Senior team with four points each.  Michigan goalie Margaret Mcmurray finished with 42 saves.  

Game #5: Wisconsin 12, Michigan 0

The offense Wisconsin showed in their first game continued into the second as they beat Michigan 12-0 in Game #5 of the CCM Girls NIT tournament.  Amber Heidenreich scored first, two minutes in, getting assists from Samantha Young and Jane Ann Drill.  13 of Wisconsin's players tallied a point and the offense increased each period as they put up 3, 4, and 5 goals per period and sent 83 shots towards Michigan goalie Olivia Portillo, who made 71 saves in 54 minutes of play.  

Game #6: Minnesota Seniors: 4, Minnesota U18: 0

Goalies Chloe Crosby (16 saves) and Marit Larson (17 saves) split time and turned away all shots leading the Minnesota Seniors to a 4-0 shutout over Minnesota U18.  The Seniors got their offense going early and were able to settle into a 2-0- lead as they scored on their first two shots of the game.  Carly Bullock scored twice on her first shift to put the Seniors up 2-0 less than two minutes into the game.  The game settled down after that and was back and forth. With just over six minutes remaining in the second period, it was the Minnesota Seniors who got their 3-0 lead as Kaitlin Radke scored on an assist from Taylor TurnquistThe Seniors added a final goal in the third period when Sophia McGovern scored on a play set-up by Sydney Brodt and Turnquist.  Minnesota U18 goalies Morgan Cin and Anna Goldstein split time in the loss, but kept their team in the game by saving 43 of 47 shots for a combined .915 save percentage on the night.
