Section 3: 5, Section 8: 3

The 7th place game started with Section 3 burying two goals in the first half.  Chase Foley picked up one of those goals while Tyler Linnerooth notched one with just :01 left on the clock.  Section 8 surged back with a goal from Hanson Oleary early in the second half, but Section 3 tallied the next two goals from Luke Herzog and Declan Beers.  Section 8 made another push with two quick goals from Hunter Olson and Caiden Sigerud to make it 4-3.  Foley picked up his second of the game with two minutes left to seal the victory for Section 3 5-3.

Section 6: 7, Section 7: 4

It only took the second half but the two squads scored a combined 11 goals in 24 minutes in the high-scoring third place contest. Section 6 opened up the flood gates first, Nicholas Portz netting one at 20:41, with Riley Enderle adding another little more than 20 seconds later. Jack Westlund potted another at 11:35 to make it 3-0 in favor of Section 6. Then it was Section 7’s turn. Nicholas Lanigan, Ian Mageau and Landon Langenbrunner tied it up in the span of six minutes. From there on out it was Section 6’s game. Enderle added his second of the night at 1:19, Westlund his second with 51 seconds left, followed by Joseph Gimberlin (32 seconds) and Noah Bissett (9 seconds) finished the game.

Section 5: 2, Section 2: 1

Jack Bayless opened up the scoring for Section 2 early on in the first half but the second half was dominated by Section 2, with Caleb Nelson and Bryce Brodzinski scoring two unanswered for the win.

Championship
A Battle to the End, Section 1 Edges Section 4 for Title, 3-2

From puck drop it was apparent why these two teams were facing off in the championship game. Big bodies, fast-pace and high-quality scoring dominated the game from start to finish. Though an even match-up to the end it was Section 1 who was declared took home championship honors, Dylan Schneider scoring the game-winner off a great feed from Lucas Newman to edge Section 4, 3-2.

Back and forth hockey ensued from start to finish but it was Section 1 who got on the board first. Michael Buckingham settled down a bounce puck pass from Jackson Maroushek and slapped it toward the net from just inside the blue line to beat Andrew Beran at 20:07 for a 1-0 lead.

Section 4 had a few opportunities but struggled to find a way past Isaiah Dilaura. That was until 14:15 when Josh Long got the puck on his stick. Samuel Kerr found Long skating down the left side. Long puts the puck on net, which then bounced and flipped up over Dilaura’s shoulder and squeaked across the line. Off the draw Section 1’s Aidan Pearson took control and put some early pressure down Beran who came up with a huge pad save to deny Section 1 the lead. But 40 seconds later Section 1 again gained control, when Andrew Stoneman found Laudon Poellinger alone at the point. Poellinger rifled the one-timer on net to give Section 1 the 2-1 lead at 13:02.

Section 4 scored once more to end the half when Devlin McCabe ripped a shot that sent waves through the net.

The second half remained as intense as the first and back and forth action continued. Shots were a bit more few and far between and still both Section 4’s Thomas Buell and Section 1’s Jack Cusey were strong in the crease for their squads. Then, at 2:25 Schneider notched the game-winner and bragging rights for Section 1.
