Minnesota Hockey Teams Up With Domino’s To Fight Cancer

Associations Will Compete As Part of Hockey Fights Cancer Month in October

St. Paul, MN – September 29, 2015 – Minnesota Hockey has teamed up with Domino’s Pizza, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Minnesota Wild to help Hockey Fight Cancer in October. Each of Minnesota Hockey’s community-based associations will be eligible to compete with one another in an effort to help find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.

As part of October’s Hockey Fights Cancer initiative, Minnesota Hockey associations will be participating by donating their pennies and loose change at their local rinks inside specially marked containers at their local rinks and online at www.hockeyfightscancer.org/mn. The home rink that raises the most money will be awarded a special Domino’s pizza party on a to be determined date. Individual teams can also participate by hosting Domino’s “dough raising” nights as part of their season kickoff parties.

Domino’s is now the exclusive pizza of Minnesota Hockey and will be providing special offers to Minnesota Hockey teams and families beginning October 1, and continuing throughout the season. A special “team” offer for Minnesota Hockey teams will include three or more large one-topping pizzas for $8.00 each. A special hockey “family” offer for all Minnesota Hockey members will feature two medium one-topping pizzas, a marbled brownie and a 2-liter of Coca-Cola for $19.99.

The offers will be honored at all participating stores and can be utilized for by calling in or ordering online for both pickup and delivery orders. The coupon code for team orders will be “SKATE” and the coupon code for family orders will be “ICE.”

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) funds research to advance more breakthrough therapies for blood cancer patients. It exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. LLS has invested more than $1 billion in research since 1954. This investment has helped advance life-saving therapies, including targeted immunotherapies.

Domino’s Pizza was founded in 1960, and is the recognized world leader in pizza delivery operating a network of company-owned and franchise-owned stores in the United States and international markets. With over 100 stores in Minnesota, Domino’s has been a part of the State of Hockey since the 1970’s.

Meet Ike

Meet Ike, one of our Hockey Fights Cancer Power Players. Ike was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia) in May of 2013 and doesn’t like going to treatment, but knows he has to. Ike has 8 months left out of 3 years of treatments. Ike says hockey gave him a purpose to focus on when he was in the tough treatment phase. He plays for Rogers Youth Hockey and LOVES it! Ike says “Thank you for supporting Hockey Fights Cancer. You are making a difference, not only in my life, but in those that have yet to receive a diagnosis and in the hopes that one day there will be a cure!”
