Nominate a local volunteer for a 2015 Volunteer of the Month award!

Minnesota Hockey is excited to announce the opening of nominations for the Total Hockey Volunteer of the Month award for the 2015-16 season. Entering its fifth season, the Total Hockey Volunteer of the Month award gives special recognition to the outstanding volunteers we have in associations across Minnesota.

Every year volunteers selflessly dedicate their time and energy to ensure the success of our community-based youth hockey associations. With the support of Total Hockey, this award acknowledges five volunteers over the course of the season. Nominations are accepted from all types of volunteer positions in our youth hockey associations. Last year’s winners included a volunteer coordinator, a team manager, a recruiting chairperson, a youth coach who also volunteered to build a brand new warming house and a couple who have combined for more than 20 years of service in leadership positions.

"There are so many people who generously serve to grow, enhance and connect our hockey communities,” said Katy Benoit, USA Hockey and Minnesota Hockey Liaison for Total Hockey. “They reflect the best of what hockey is about, and truly transform the lives of our kids and families.  It is an honor to recognize those who give so much."

To be considered for the award, nominees must play an active role in their community based association. Top candidates help create a safe and fun environment for youth hockey players and are good role models for parents, players and potential volunteers.
