On Saturday, September 27th, the Minnesota Wild hosted Disabled Hockey Night during their first home preseason game of the 2014-15 season. Members of each branch of Minnesota Disabled Hockey participated in the event, including taking the ice during both intermissions.

Disabled Hockey Night is held each year in an effort to promote that hockey in Minnesota is truly for everyBODY.  The programs of Minnesota Special Hockey, Minnesota Sled Hockey and the Minnesota Warriors all provide a structure that enables kids and adults to experience the joy of playing ice hockey and the feeling of being on a team.

During Saturday’s event, Minnesota Disabled Hockey and the Minnesota Wild also took the time to recognize several partners of disabled hockey in Minnesota. Section 108 and Eagle Street Grill participated in a check presentation in recognition of their generous donation of $15,000 towards Minnesota Disabled Hockey. The Hendrickson Foundation was also recognized their support of the various programs as the organization has provided significant funds and resources to each of them over the past several years.

A special thank you goes out to the Minnesota Wild, supporters of Minnesota Disabled Hockey and everyone that helped host Disabled Hockey Night!  We appreciate your help reminding people that hockey is for everyBODY in Minnesota.  For more information on any of the Minnesota Disabled Hockey programs, click here.
