The sixth annual Used Equipment Drive, presented by the Minnesota Wild, Let’s Play Hockey and Minnesota Hockey, concludes this Saturday, Oct. 4th with a public distribution taking place from 9 a.m. to noon at Xcel Energy Center.

“[In the past] hockey families come from all over the state to select this free equipment,” said Let’s Play Hockey publisher Doug Johnson. “Each year, every piece of the thousands of pieces of equipment is given away.”

Volunteers have collected the donated equipment, sorted and organized it in preparation for Sunday's distribution. The equipment will be available to individuals and hockey associations at no cost.

“After five years, it is truly amazing how the hockey community continues to rally and donate their used hockey equipment to afford other hockey families the opportunity to start their children in the sport, or continue playing this great game,” Johnson said.

Sponsors and partners for the program, in alphabetical order, include Berger Transfer, FOX Sports North, Herb Brooks Foundation, Let’s Play Hockey, Minnesota High School Hockey Coaches Association, Minnesota Hockey, Minnesota Ice Arena Managers Association, Minnesota Wild, One Ten Cycles, Total Hockey, Upper Midwest High School Elite Hockey League and Westwood Sports.
