Minnesota Hockey Recreation League registration is open for the 2013-14 season

The Minnesota Hockey Recreation League offers players in the greater metro area a low cost, low commitment hockey alternative.  The Rec. League gives boys and girls the opportunity to play hockey in a no check, low pressure environment that fosters a love for the game.

During the 2013-14 season, the Rec. League will be providing three levels of play: 12U, 14U and 17U. Players have the ability to sign up with their friends, but the Rec. League reserves the right to move players up or down a level according to their skill level.

Teams are typically made according to geographical area which helps minimize the travel and cost involved for families. Ice time has already been secured at Minnetonka, Richfield and Fogerty Arenas with more being acquired in the near future.  No ice sessions will be held on Wednesday nights or before noon on Sunday.

Registration for the season will run from Monday, Sept. 9th to Friday, Nov. 15th.  The playing season starts in December with three one-hour clinics to provide the players with basic skills.  Then, the regular season begins in January.

Teams will have one practice and one game a week from the beginning of January through March 9th.  A year end festival will be held the weekend of March 15th to celebrate the season.

Fees:

  • Skaters - $290 ($50 USA Hockey Fee & $240 Rec. League Fee)
  • Goalies - $170 ($50 USA Hockey Fee & $120 Rec. League Fee)
