St. Paul, Minn. – The Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Hockey today announced a partnership that will provide support to the Girls and Boys 2024 Minnesota High School Hockey State Tournament Banquets. A long-standing Tournament week tradition, the banquets are held for the “A” and “AA” state participants, their families and supporters.

“When presented with this opportunity to partner with our friends at Minnesota Hockey and work with the Girls and Boys Minnesota High School Coaches Associations in support of these events, we knew this was a great fit and chance for us to help ensure we recognize and celebrate the tremendous achievement and accomplishments of these teams and their student athletes,” said Wayne Petersen, Minnesota Wild Sr. Director of Community Relations and Hockey Partnerships. “The State High School Tournaments are premiere events here in the State of Hockey and the banquets are a great way to kick off the excitement and festivities that surround tournament weeks here in St. Paul.”

Representing Minnesota’s high school coaches and programs, the Girls and Boys High School Hockey Coaches Association in a joint statement said, “We’re excited to partner with the Wild and Minnesota Hockey and greatly appreciate their desire to support our players, coaches and teams by producing the Annual “A” and “AA” State Tournament banquets. Their shared passion for our game and the State Tournament is unquestionable and will ensure that this experience remains a special one for all involved.”

The Girls Class “A” and “AA” banquets will be hosted at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in the St. Paul RiverCentre on February 20 and 21, while the Boys banquets will take place on March 5 and 6.

“We couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity to help support and celebrate the accomplishments of these State Tourney participants,” said Joe Delich, Minnesota Hockey Executive Director. “Most of these players competing for their High Schools came up through Minnesota Hockey and our Community Based Association Model. There is a collective sense of pride we all share for these young athletes and MN Hockey, along with our good friends at the Wild and High School Coaches Associations, take great pride in being a part of such a wonderful week of activities that surrounds our High School State Tournaments.”
