From the beginning of the season, our goal was to get to the State Tournament. We had a challenging schedule where "wins" weren't the easiest to come by, consistently staying around the .500 line.
We set our goals to get better every day. The boys worked hard in practice and in all of our games. Often, we weren't the recipient of good "puck luck", but the boys continued to persevere. We knew that if we kept up our honest effort we would be positioned for a strong run at the end of the year.
A great road trip to Alexandria for Regions was exactly what the doctor ordered. We grinded to four wins in a difficult region to advance to our ultimate goal, the State Tournament.
Our team is certainly disappointed to not be able to measure ourselves against the other top seven teams in the State, but we learned a valuable lesson in sports and will be able to apply this to the rest of our lives.
