Toninato led the Bulldogs to a third-place finish at the Ice Breaker Tournament, where he was named to the All-Tournament Team after facing a pair of ranked opponents. The Maple Leafs prospect totaled four points on the weekend, while posting a +3 rating and firing eight shots on goal in two games. In Friday’s 4-3 loss to No. 1 Minnesota, he logged his first multi-goal game with a +2 rating as his two goals nearly helped pull off a comeback. In Sunday’s consolation game, he added two more points, including another goal for three on the weekend, along with an assist on the game-winner in a 3-0 shutout of No. 12 and host Notre Dame. Toninato had a hand in four of UMD’s six goals at the tournament.

McNeely backstopped Minnesota Duluth to a 3-0 win against host and No. 12 Notre Dame in the consolation game of the Ice Breaker Tournament Sunday. In his only game of the weekend, McNeely saved all 23 shots he faced, while helping UMD kill all six Notre Dame power plays. The shutout was the second of his career and first since his freshman campaign. McNeely also picked up an assist on the Bulldogs second goal in the win for his first collegiate point.
