Minnesota has been a leader in the US and across the world in providing girls and women opportunities to play hockey. Last season, there were over 14,000 registered girls and women in Minnesota, over 2,500 players more than the state with the second most and more than double the players of the state in third.

A big part of that success has come at the adult women’s level where the Women’s Hockey Association of Minnesota (WHAM) continues to operate the largest women’s hockey league in the country. WHAM provides opportunities for beginning players with their Hockey 101 program all the way up to leagues with players who have played at the collegiate level.

WHAM offers seven different levels of play including a Hockey 101 program designed for with no prior hockey experience!
